Hey! I’m Alissa, but I go by Ali. I am an undergraduate student at Elon University with a major in Professional Writing & Rhetoric and a minor in Policy Studies.
My 10 Cents is a place for me to openly share the experiences and stories I have to tell from my everyday life as a young adult. As I continue to grow and form my own independent attitudes and beliefs, I find myself making a lot of observations about life, and asking a lot of really tough questions. By sharing some snippets of these thoughts and reflections, I hope to gain some new perspectives–and maybe introduce some as well.
I have a personal perspective to voice on just about anything–hence the name My 10 Cents, indicating my tendency to give way more than just 2 pennies’ worth. However, my goal in creating this site is not to speak without the right authority, or act inconsistently between the things I write vs. the way I carry myself in my daily life; my goal is to practice developing more sophisticated opinions/arguments, and to show genuine interest and care for the topics I discuss.
A special thanks to my family, friends, teachers/professors, classmates, and everyone else who has helped shape and support my ever-growing character and passions in life.
